Here is a take on a creamy, fruity pop using mango, banana and crème fraîche. The recipe is the same as the berry cream pop, except that I swap out the berries and replace them with fresh or frozen mango pieces.
Fresh mango only tastes good when in season, and it's not in season right now, so I used frozen mango pieces.
Tip: You can taste test the liquid before freezing it, or you can even drink some of it as a smoothie.
Ingredients and preparation
- 1 cup of crème fraîche
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 cup of frozen mango, or one whole mango
- 1 very ripe banana
- Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor, and blend completely.
- Pour the liquid into frozen pop molds and freeze for at least 4 hours (this recipe makes about 4 or 5 pops). If you use a pop mold, run a pop under warm water for a minute or so to take the cover off of it.
Tip: I use Tovolo Yellow Groovy Pop Molds, but you don't have to invest in all that plastic. A paper cup and paper stick balanced with some foil or wax paper will do the trick as well.
